Ellis Hughes spent decades inside law enforcement — not as an observer, not as a consultant who visited for a weekend and wrote a report, but as a practitioner who lived the culture from the inside. Hughes doesn't traffic in comfortable truths. His work is deliberately confrontational because policing's culture has, in too many places, been allowed to drift toward mediocrity, political calculation, and the protection of comfortable incompetence. He believes law enforcement deserves better — and so does the public it serves.
